Abstract
The calculation of farmer terms of trade (FTT) was based on the base year 2012=100. In January 2019, the value of farmer terms of trade by sub sector as follows: food crops about 117,87, horticulture about 81,05; smallholders estate crops about 91,20; animal husbandry about 127,02; and fishery about 108,30. Farmer terms of trade of fishery can be distinguished into two types which are capture fishery and aquaculture fishery about 117,08 and 94,18, respectively. All in all, farmer terms of trade of NTB was documented at 110,79, decreased about 0,11 percent compared to its value in December 2018 which was about 110,91 percent.
Agricultural terms of trade in January 2019 was around 119,73, decreased by 0,03 percent compared to December 2018 that was around 119,77 percent. Majority of agricultural terms of trade reached the value above 100 except for horticulture which only amounted of 91,14 percent. The agricultural terms of trade of other sub sectors were animal husbandry (138,55); food crops (123,75); fishery (119,09); and smallholders estate crops (101,49).
Of 33 province, 15 provinces experienced an increase meanwhile 18 others experienced a decrease in the value of its farmer terms of trade. The highest increase occurred in Riau of 2,59 percent, while the highest decrease occurred in Papua of -1,58 percent.
In January 2019, Nusa Tenggara Barat experienced rural inflation about 0,74 percent. This was due to the increasing value of Household Consumption Indices (IKRT) of the following expenditure groups: foodstuff about 1,33 percent, clothing about 0,70 percent, health about 0,68 percent, prepared food, beverages and tobacco about 0,20 percent, education, recreation and sport about 0,18 percent, housing about 0,07 percent, and transportation and communication about 0,07 percent.
