Abstract

  • In September 2019, West Nusa Tenggara experienced a deflation of 0.38 percent, or a decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 135.59 in August 2019 to 135.07 in September 2019. This deflation rate is below the deflation rate nationally recorded at 0.27 percent.
  • For the West Nusa Tenggara region, the City of Mataram experienced a deflation of 0.44 percent and the City of Bima experienced a deflation of 0.16 percent.
  • The deflation of West Nusa Tenggara in September 2019 amounted to 0.38 percent due to a decline in prices as indicated by a decrease in the index in the Foodstuffs Group by 2.25 percent. While the index increase occurred in the Clothing Group by 0.60 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Fuel group of 0.22 percent; Processed Foods, Beverages, Cigarettes & Tobacco by 0.17 percent; Education, Recreation & Sports group of 0.10 percent; The Transport, Communication & Financial Services Group by 0.00 percent and the Health Group by 0.00 percent.
  • The inflation rate of the West Nusa Tenggara calendar year for September 2019 is 0.81 percent lower than the inflation for the calendar year September 2018 of 1.78 percent. While the "year-to-year" inflation rate of September 2019 was 2.17 percent lower than the "year-to-year" inflation rate in September 2018 of 3.09
